More than N527 million has been disbursed by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to 5,448 students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and Niger Delta University, Bayelsa State, according to separate acknowledgement letters from both Institutions.

The letters, signed by management of the two Universities, confirmed receipt of the funds and expressed appreciation to NELFUND for the intervention aimed at easing the financial burden on students.

Usmanu Danfodiyo University acknowledged receiving N401,752,080 as the second batch of registration fee disbursement for the 2025/2026 academic session, covering 4,323 students. In a letter dated April 29, 2026, and signed by the Bursar, Faruku Koko, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, the University stated that the money was received through its e Collection account on March 24, 2026. The Institution thanked the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Fund, Akintunde Sawyer, and his management for the support, expressing optimism for subsequent releases under the scheme.

Similarly, Niger Delta University confirmed receipt of N126,070,000 for the payment of school fees for 1,125 students. The acknowledgement letter, dated July 24, 2026, was signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Allen Agih, who described the intervention as a significant boost to students and the Institution.

"I hereby acknowledge with sincere appreciation the receipt of the sum of One Hundred and Twenty Six Million and Seventy Thousand Naira (N126,070,000.00) only disbursed by Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)," Agih stated.

He added that the funds had been received in support of 1,125 students of the University for the payment of their school fees, while commending NELFUND for its continued commitment to advancing education and institutional development.
