The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has restructured its senior leadership framework by establishing a third Deputy Vice Chancellor position and redesignating its two existing DVC offices, following approval by both the University Senate and the Governing Council.

The Registrar, Mrs Olayinka Balogun, stated that the restructuring was designed to align with the institution's vision of promoting excellence in teaching, research and global collaboration. She noted, "The new roles will provide focused leadership in critical areas, ensuring that the university remains competitive and responsive to the demands of modern higher education."

Balogun added, "This initiative reflects the university's dedication to building a dynamic governance structure that supports innovation, operational effectiveness, and sustainable partnerships."

The three approved offices are Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Innovation; Deputy Vice Chancellor, Management and Operations; and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development and Partnerships. The office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Management and Operations is newly created, whilst the two existing portfolios have been redesignated to reflect the institution's evolving priorities.

At its meeting on 3 August 2026, the Governing Council approved the election of three professors to fill the restructured roles. Prof Dahud Araromi was elected Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Innovation; Prof Adepoju Ogunkunle was elected Deputy Vice Chancellor, Management and Operations; and Prof Lukman Sunmonu was elected Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development and Partnerships.

The university stated that the restructuring was driven by the need to strengthen institutional leadership, improve operational efficiency and drive academic innovation across the institution.
