The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke Ode, has scheduled Wednesday, 16 September 2026, as the date for its entrance examination for applicants seeking admission into the Community Midwifery Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The College Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQuadri, disclosed this in a statement issued by the College's Chief Press Secretary, AbdulHafeez Oyewole, advising all applicants to arrive early and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the exercise.

The written examination will commence at 8:00 am at the IOT, UNILORIN Mini Campus, which currently serves as the temporary premises of the College.

The Provost warned applicants against examination malpractice, stressing that the College would not tolerate any form of misconduct. He also urged candidates to study the questions carefully before attempting them and to remain calm during the examination.

The Community Midwifery Programme is one of the courses recently approved for commencement at the College by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, following a successful accreditation exercise in which the institution satisfied the Council's stipulated requirements.

The two year programme is designed to produce competent midwives capable of providing essential maternal and newborn healthcare services at the community level. Successful graduates will be awarded the Licensed Community Midwife qualification.

Notably, applicants to the programme are not required to sit for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination. Candidates who possess the requisite O Level science qualifications are eligible to apply, subject to the prescribed admission requirements of the College and the regulatory body.

The Provost described the commencement of the programme as an important milestone in the continued development of the institution, noting that it would expand opportunities for aspiring healthcare professionals while strengthening the availability of skilled maternal and newborn care providers within communities.
