Students at Federal University Dutse who violate the Institution's approved dress code will be denied access to classrooms, lecture theatres, laboratories, libraries, examination halls, and other University facilities, management has warned.

The directive was contained in a circular issued by the Directorate of Academic Affairs and signed by the Acting Director of Academic Affairs, Mustapha Aliyu.

The University stated it had observed "with serious dismay" the increasing disregard for its approved dress code by some students, describing the trend as a breach of the Institution's rules and regulations.

According to the circular, improper dressing constitutes misconduct under the provisions of the Students' Handbook, particularly Chapter Seven on Students' Conduct and Discipline and Chapter Thirteen, which outlines the University's dress code and the penalties for violations.

Management urged all students to comply with the approved dress code while on campus, stressing that adherence to the regulations is mandatory. It warned that any student found flouting the dress code would be barred from accessing academic and administrative facilities, including classrooms, lecture theatres, laboratories, offices, libraries, and examination halls, in addition to facing disciplinary action.

The circular also directed lecturers and other members of staff not to attend to students who appear in violation of the University's dress code.

According to the University, the renewed enforcement is aimed at promoting discipline, decency, and strict compliance with institutional regulations across the campus.
