The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has confirmed that the approved registration fee for Computer Based Test (CBT) examinations remains ₦250 per course, assuring affected students of refunds after reports emerged that some had mistakenly paid ₦500 per examination.

In an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar on August 5, 2026, the Institution explained that the approved fee had already been communicated in a circular dated July 27, 2026. Students who paid ₦500 instead of the officially approved ₦250 have been assured that the excess amount will be refunded.

Management urged affected students to remain calm while the refund process is arranged and advised all students to ensure they pay only ₦250 per CBT examination, describing this as the officially approved fee for the current examination period.

The notice was signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Blossom E. Okorie, and is intended to serve as a guide to prevent further overpayments during the ongoing CBT registration exercise.

CBT registration at UNIUYO is a mandatory requirement for students to sit their semester examinations, with the University's CBT portal stating that each student pays a non refundable service charge per course and must present a registration slip for entry into the examination hall. Registration is typically closed ahead of examination dates, with no late processing allowed on the day of an examination.

The University has run CBT examinations for General Studies and other courses across recent academic sessions, with fees for such registrations previously set at different rates depending on the course category, underscoring the importance of students confirming current approved charges before making payment.
