The National Association of Nigerian Students Ogun State Joint Campus Council has commended Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun following the Ogun State Executive Council's approval of road reconstruction projects, housing developments, institutional upgrades and renewed security investments across the state.

The Chairman of NANS Ogun JCC, Comrade Habeebullahi Adekunle Tijani, described the approvals in a statement on Wednesday as a demonstration of purposeful governance that would positively affect students, young people and all residents of Ogun State.

The Council specifically applauded the approval for the reconstruction of major roads across the three senatorial districts, stating that improved road infrastructure would enhance accessibility to tertiary institutions, reduce travel time for students, improve highway safety and ease the movement of agricultural produce and commercial goods. The Council added that better road networks encourage investment, generate employment and stimulate local economic activity.

On housing, the Council commended the approval of a 450 unit housing scheme and other residential developments, describing them as strategic investments that would expand affordable housing, create construction sector jobs and strengthen the state's economy. NANS noted that the developments would benefit young professionals and graduates choosing Ogun State for work and entrepreneurship.

The student body also praised the reconstruction of the Ogun State House of Assembly Quarters and the Governor's Lodge, framing the projects as investments in institutional efficiency and the preservation of public assets.

On security, the Council highly commended Governor Abiodun for the collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force that produced the deployment of an operational police aircraft to Ogun State. The Council also acknowledged The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for approving the deployment. NANS stated that enhanced aerial surveillance and the strengthening of Operation Kosaye would improve security across forests, border communities and other vulnerable locations.

The Council maintained that a secure environment is fundamental to uninterrupted academic calendars, research, entrepreneurship and economic prosperity.

While affirming support for the administration, NANS Ogun JCC urged the state government to sustain investment in tertiary education infrastructure, expand student empowerment programmes and strengthen partnerships that prepare graduates for global competitiveness.
