The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun, Professor Wale Sulaiman, has described the outgoing Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Olarenwaju Oloyede, as one of Nigeria's most accomplished education reformers, crediting him with transforming the nation's tertiary admissions system over a decade of leadership.

Sulaiman, who fondly refers to Oloyede as "Egbon," described him as a brother, mentor, and trusted adviser whose guidance had shaped his own commitment to national development.

"Prof. Oloyede is one of the reasons I continue to remain actively engaged in Nigeria. He has consistently encouraged me, inspired me, and provided honest, unbiased counsel. He is a true mentor whose wisdom and leadership have shaped my outlook on public service," Sulaiman said.

The Pro Chancellor commended the reforms introduced during Oloyede's tenure, highlighting the expansion of Computer Based Testing, improved candidate verification systems, strengthened examination security, technology driven admission processes, enhanced result management, more transparent registration procedures and increased institutional accountability. According to him, these reforms improved efficiency and transparency while strengthening public trust.

Sulaiman also praised Oloyede's earlier record as Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, noting that his leadership there promoted academic excellence, institutional stability, and administrative efficiency, values he said carried through into his later reforms.

Beyond education, Sulaiman described Oloyede as an accomplished scholar and bridge builder who had contributed to interreligious dialogue, conflict resolution, and institutional development, adding that his work had strengthened national cohesion and inspired generations of leaders.

"As he concludes this remarkable chapter, his legacy will endure through the stronger institutions he built, the reforms he championed, and the countless lives he has impacted. Nigeria owes him a debt of gratitude for his exceptional service," he said.

Sulaiman prayed for Oloyede's continued good health, wisdom, and strength, expressing confidence that his experience would remain valuable to Nigeria's educational development and nation building efforts.
