The Bridge Scholarship Foundation has opened applications for its 2026 award cycle, offering a fully funded opportunity for undergraduate students enrolled in Nigerian public universities, with the application window closing on September 12, 2026.

The Foundation stated that the competitive programme is designed to identify high potential students facing significant financial barriers and provide them with comprehensive support through to graduation and beyond. According to the Foundation, the initiative aims to give indigent students access to quality education irrespective of socioeconomic limitations, and to nurture bright but disadvantaged candidates into skilled, confident leaders.

To qualify, applicants must be fully enrolled in a Public University in Nigeria and currently in Year 1 through to the penultimate year of their degree programme. Candidates must demonstrate critical financial need, exhibit strong commitment to completing a Bachelor's degree, and maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale. Applicants are also expected to show integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal or academic challenges, and to actively participate in co curricular and community service activities.

Required documents include a Curriculum Vitae, a Motivation Letter, WAEC or NECO and JAMB results, an Admission Letter, an Academic Record for returning students, three Recommendation Letters, and valid photo identification such as a National Identification Number slip or Voter's Card. The Foundation warned that incomplete applications will not be processed, and urged candidates to verify that all required documents are correctly uploaded before submission.

Support under the programme reportedly extends beyond tuition, with previous editions of the initiative covering accommodation, living expenses, mentorship, and career development for successful scholars.

The application process is entirely online. Interested and qualified candidates are to visit the official Bridge Scholarship application portal, complete the online form with accurate and up to date information, upload all required supporting documents, and submit before the closing date.
