Southern Delta University, Ozoro, has announced that its 6th Inaugural Lecture will be delivered by Professor Paschal Chinedu, Professor of Information Systems and Technology, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
The lecture, titled "Information Technology, the Pathway to the Cloud: Demystifying the Fears of Going Cloudy within the Nigerian Digital Landscape," will be held at the University Auditorium, Ozoro, at 11.00am. Guests are expected to be seated by 10.30am.
The Institution, formerly known as Delta State University of Science and Technology, was established by an Act of the Delta State House of Assembly on February 23, 2021, and is led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunny Awhefeada. The University has kept up a steady run of scholarly events across its campuses this year, including its maiden convocation ceremony in February and the first distinguished scholar lecture at its Orerokpe Campus the same month.
The Institution is also set to host the maiden edition of the Professor Sam Egite Oyovbaire Public Service Lecture on August 6, themed "Federal Statecraft Without Crafters: The Nigerian Predicament," with Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, expected as Special Guest of Honour, is underlining a period of heightened academic activity at the young University ahead of Professor Chinedu's address later in the month.
